We met Andromeda for the first time, wrapped in His infinite beauty, thanks to a trail of bright, fascinating stars, while trekking on the Sibillini Mountains, located in a little-known, but charming, area of our beautiful country. We were there looking for a natural and spontaneous event that can be considered a true miracle of Mother Nature. On these silent mountains a ritual takes place every year that is almost supernatural: the flowering. Between late May and early July, the Castelluccio plateau witnesses this important event. For several weeks the chromatic monotony of the grassland is broken by a mosaic of colours, ranging from yellow ochre to red.Although the “Fiorita” (Flowered) festival falls on the third and last Sundays of June, there is no specific day on which to enjoy this enchanting show.

Every year it is in the hands of the seasonal weather and you have to know how to look for it because not everyone can find our scent. The species of flowers that dye the Pian Grande (great plain) and Pian Perduto (lost plain) in this period are countless. Walking along the paths you can find: gentianellas, daffodils, violets, poppies, buttercups, daffodils, purple eugeniae, clovers, shamrocks and many more.
During this walk along the paths of the Pian Perduto, in respectful silence for the lush nature surrounding you, you are intoxicated
with scents and colours that fill not only the eyes but also the heart and soul. During summer nights, at the spartan bivouac by a crackling campfire, your gaze sweeps through the red embers of the fire, and with it the soul begins to fly up into the big sky full of twinkling stars. A bouquet of citrus and fresh scents emits effervescent scents counterpointed by ylang ylang and jasminewater.
A delicate freshness that surrounds you and is with you all day. A scent with a reserved, but at the same time firm, personality, ignited by the memory of pear nectar and white heliotrope, wrapped by the sweetness of icing sugar, cocoa and milk. The power of the places is contained in this precious ampoule of nectar making you relive the dream every time you wear it.
This composition was born from a trip in the family holiday home, where, in the company of the whole family, Tiziana and I spent happy
days running in the woods, listening to Grandfather’s stories about plants and flowers, playing at recognising their scents. None of us at that time would have thought that one day that game would become our passion and our “job”. At the foot of Mount Catria there is a small village with 1000 residents called Frontone. The tranquillity of the place is broken only by the scents of the flowers and plants that surround the valley. Not far from there there is the Fonte Avellana: a place of meditation and silence that gives the journey a spiritual flavour. Our house was protected by Frontone Castle, a fortification that surveyed the area’s border that the Romans crossed to reach the Adriatic and the last stronghold of the Duchy of Montefeltro between the XV and XVI centuries.

A place rich in history and wonders, in the midst of which we played happily. By climbing the highest tower of the castle, in its magnificent setting, you can seen the massive Monte Nerone and as far as the State of San Marino, while on the opposite side you can look over the Adriatic Sea.
After dinner, under the glow of a huge yellow moon, we played on the tower lit with flaming braziers under a starry sky… Therefore, this extrait de parfum is bright and
sparkling and becomes timeless just like the constellation that gives it its name. This ethereal and white essence, like the sunny afternoon that follows us between reality and imagination, can, almost by magic, produce sweet and light scents, thanks to its top notes of passion fruit and cassis, that are at the same time persistent and long-lasting thanks to the strength of melilotus flower, lily and narcissus.
This perfume is the story of a dream that tells of the wonderful journey on the wings of the imagination, the eternal child within us, who passed a hot summer night counting shooting stars. A flight to exotic places where they magical and unknown creatures live in scented forests of enchantment. It is the encounter with fairies and elves, with bright colours and wonderful scents, collected and recorded forever in this precious nectar of fantasy. A timeless fragrance that never fails to speak of love and gratitude.
The story of this fragrance starts around Lake Como. A body of water that has always fascinated us because it is far deeper even than the sea where we live, yet surrounded by spectacular mountains. In fact, the lake is situated in a basin surrounded by forest-covered mountains, and has a most varied and perfumed landscape. Along its shores there are pastures, woods, rugged and imposing rocks, picturesque villages overlooking the water and beautiful villas with parks and gardens. The central part of the lake, where all three of its branches meet, is the mildest point but with the broadest landscape. We loved reaching this crossroads of water in the boat and seeing the best views over the promontory of Bellagio, on northern Grigna overlooking the Valsassina and, on clear days, the upper basin with the Alps in the background.

The most familiar and beloved place has always been the Lecco branch that has a more rugged and picturesque panorama, with the southern Grigna, of dolomitic origin, and the Corni di Canzo rocks that, going down to the lake, form picturesque bays and inlets. Our favourite retreat was the source of the Fiumelatte, described by Leonardo da Vinci.
It was already known as “Fiumelaccio” in the Codex Atlanticus by Leonardo da Vinci who was very intrigued by this phenomenon. “It’s the Fiumelaccio, which falls high from more than 100 ells from the vein where it is born, straight down on the lake, with inestimable uproar and noise.” Leonardo da Vinci This stream that intrigued Leonardo da Vinci, had bewitched us children because of its feature that is unique in the world: water flows in the stream intermittently from March 25 until October 7. The water comes from a mysterious cave full of scents that would be impossible to verbalise and it would be an understatement it attempted. A place where the alchemy of the perfumer came to life before anyone else where. The rock of the cave itself was perfumed. After the period when the stream flows intermittently, you can see its channel that seems to be a real lunar landscape shrouded in the cosmic oxen of a place where there is never natural light.
Venturing inside with a torch of fire was like walking on the moon, but even more exciting and vivid in my memory was leaving and finding myself in front of the mirror of calm water of the lake on which reflected the changing moon and the Ursa Major lying above the high mountains, the two immersed in an enveloping scent of earth and roots, refreshed by the smell of the water. From this emotion comes a severe, but at the same time reassuring, extract like the hand that sustains you along the arduous path. A strength and a warmth that never lets you down.
This journey starts in one of the most amazing and mysterious places that Italy hosts or perhaps I should say hides: Matera is known as the city of the Stones, because of the peculiar and unique nature of its historical centre. Dug and built next to the Gravina di Matera, there is a deep gorge that divides the country into two. The Sassi di Matera, the areas that make up the old part of the city, are spread in two valleys that are east-facing and are slightly lower that the surrounding areas, and they are separated from each other by the rocky spur of Civita. This enviable position has made it the invisible city to the eyes of its enemies for thousands of years, allowing it to pass almost unscathed through centuries of history.

The Sasso Barisano, north-west facing on the edge of a cliff, if we take the Civita as our reference point, the centre of the old city, is the richest in friezes and carved portals that hide its underground heart. The Sasso Caveoso, which is south facing, is laid out like a Roman amphitheatre, with cave-housesthat go down in steps. Perhaps it takes its name from the caves and classical theatres. Together they form the urban core of ancient Matera, declared by UNESCO to be a cultural landscape.
A place that most looks like an inhabited moon that any of the others that we enjoyed exploring as children. Enclosed in this perfume extract is the dream that each of us has had at least once in our lives: to live on the Moon. Guests in these cave-houses that were carved by hand hundreds of years ago in the hard rock, warmed by the cosy fireplace and vibrant chimney, this perfume is as strong and hard as the stone that lives in this hidden land! From a small window overlooking the valley a huge red moon rose that, from the skylight, due to the perspective, gave you the feeling that it was close enough to touch. Opening the window and reaching out with your palm facing upwards there was a real sense of being able to hold that indecipherable satellite.
From this experience comes a poignant extrait de parfum with as dark a character as the phenomenon just described. A perfume that at first almost sycophant and graceful, but a moment later whisks you away forever. A fragrance whose scent continues for days after its been worn, hidden as the city of the Sassi but when you least expect it, its true beauty appears. Even today we are surprised by this creation because every time creates new sensations.

As children during the hot, sunny days of summer, Tiziana and I spent most of our time with our grandfather in the countryside. He would fill our days with magic tales, teaching us the wonders of the world. Our father Evelino often accompanied us on holiday trips with his sailboat made entirely of fragrant wood. We would cut through the seas on this boat, with bright eyes and an eagerness for new discoveries, getting to know the infinite beauty of the Italy we loved.

We would cut through the seas on this boat, with bright eyes and an eagerness for new discoveries, getting to know the infinite beauty of the Italy we loved.
Just a few miles from our city, there is an enchanted mountain that hurls itself against the sea, creating a breath-taking scene: Mount Conero. The rocks and forests are mirrored in the crystal clear water of one of the most beautiful bays in Italy, which is protected by two peaks, the Two Sisters, that were thrown into the sea by the gods.
We would depart in the middle of the night accompanied by light breezes that trailed the cheerful scent of the Mediterranean scrub throughout the entire voyage. Orienting himself by the stars, our Father sailed confidently, while our Grandfather Guglielmo pointed out the constellation Orion and its mythical belt. On occasion we would see fire on dry land and bonfires that revealed dangers to the sailors. Our hearts were met with an explosion of scents carried on the summer’s warm winds that still reverberate in us today.
Orion is a result of that faraway echo. It is a spicy, intense perfume, strong yet delicate at the same time. The bouquet of citrus makes it effervescent, in contrast to the sweetness of the pineapple and the roundedness of the apple, all of which lead to its brilliant wake of spicy balance composed of thyme and oregano. A cool breeze swirls past when it is worn, and a reminder of the select wood accompanies us on a dreamlike voyage towards the Infinite.
